How a round works
- There's one round per day, the same for everyone in the world. It opens at midnight UTC and closes at the next midnight UTC.
- Pick one whole number from 1 to 10,000. You get one pick per round and you can't change it.
- When the round closes, every pick is revealed.
- The winner is whoever picked the lowest number that nobody else picked.
- If every number was picked by at least two people, nobody wins that round.
Points
Every round earns you points. Find all the numbers that exactly one person picked, and sort them from lowest to highest:

Streak bonus
Play on consecutive days to build a streak. Each round adds +2 points for every day of your streak after the first, up to +20 a round.

The monthly league
Every calendar month is a new season. Your points from every round played that month add up on the league table.
- The season ends when the last round of the month is drawn, at midnight UTC on the 1st of the next month.
- The champion is the player at #1 when the season ends. They become that month's Champion, for example "November 2026 Champion".
- Ties: if two players have the same points, the one who played fewer rounds ranks higher, since they scored more per round. If they're still tied, they share the title.
- The Champion badge appears next to your name on every future league table, and counts your titles (×2, ×3…). Your name is also added to the Hall of Champions forever.
- A new season starts from zero points for everyone. Streaks carry over between months.
- To take part in the league, sign in (with Google or your email) and choose a username. You can play without an account, but only signed-in players with a username appear on the table and can be crowned. Picks you made on the same device before signing in are added to your account.
The league is just for glory: there are no prizes, money or rewards of any kind.
Fair play
- One account per person, and one pick per account per round, even if you play from several devices.
- Creating extra accounts or playing from several browsers to block numbers is cheating. Those picks can be removed and the accounts banned.
- Usernames must be appropriate. Offensive names, and names pretending to be staff, are blocked automatically, and any that slip through will be removed. Usernames can be changed once every 30 days.
- There's no money involved: no entry fees, no bets, no prizes. Just glory.
Why it's harder than it looks
Picking 1 sounds smart, until you realise everybody else thinks so too. This is a classic game theory puzzle, the Lowest Unique Bid game: there's no single right answer, because the best pick depends on what everyone else does. The more people play, the higher the winning number tends to climb.

What we store
When you play, we store your daily pick together with a random device code created in your browser. Playing doesn't need an account.
If you sign in, we also store your email address (or the email of your Google account) so you can sign in again, and the username you choose. Your email is never shown to other players and is only used for signing in. Your stats are also kept in your browser's local storage.
